twenty eleven!

WOW!!!!
It's twenty eleven and FEBRUARY at that!!! I think it's time to crank up this ol' blog again :) What do you think??
Whitney has said for months that she's excited about writing our blog this year, and Rachel is thrilled about our new press products soon to be revealed which shall require a little updating of this site, so yeah... gonna take a little longer to get it up and going but i have high hopes!!!
Wanting to update the website this month, too! So much work to be done during the cold months before life is crazy again!! It's seeming that our crazy months may be starting sooner though-- Holy wedding inquiry, Batman! lol
We are excited about doing a few more weddings this year but hoping to not do more than 10 or so. Keeping fingers crossed!!!!
Engagements, Bridal Portraits Bridal Boudoir, and Trash the Dress sessions are a totally different thing; we can shoot those ALLLLL day and hope to shoot them all year!! and i LOVE LOVE weddings and always want to love them... so therefore, I can only take a few of them a year to ensure that.

SNOWBALL Pictures from Olivia's Birthday Party!

The Snowball was so much fun... thank you to everyone who was able to come to Olivia's 5th Birthday- our all white party!

And everyone is asking about getting a few copies of these pictures... (which is always a little weird only since that's what i do everyday... so you know i can't print at walgreens for $.29 4x6s) and I'm more than happy to get you guys some little keepsakes!

OK- so here's what i'm going to do!

Order online and I'll double your order. So, order a 4x6 and I'll send you 2 automatically. So you'll have one to keep and one to give to grandma or send with dad to his office. And don't worry... I've turned on the "friend/family" pricing cart... so you're talking less than $2 for a 4x6 for professional paper, color treatments, etc. So enjoy friends!!

Oh and the SOUP!! People keep asking for the recipes for those:

The Turkey White Bean Chili was on the southbeach diet people!! HOORAY!! Gotta love that low-carb goodness!! (Emmie is a wonderful cook, too!)

1 T EVOO

1 medium onion, roughly chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 lb ground turkey

1 t chili powder

1/2 t cumin

1 (15 ounce can) white beans

1 (14.5 ounce can) Rotel tomatoes

1 cup chicken broth

Salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute .

Add turkey, chili powder, and cumin; cook, stirring often, until turkey is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.

Add beans, tomatoes with juice and broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer until flavors blend, about 25 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.

The other soup was potato. Liv loves potato soup and it's white so i had to make.

It was NOT low-carb, but it wasn't full of fat either.

to this, i just added yukon gold potatoes (which i'd just boiled and skinned) and 1/8 cup light sour cream.

TWENTY TEN!!

Well, folks!! It's 2010!

I'm sooo excited! I just got back from an amazing and HUGE photography trade show and conference. There was so much to see and do and i learned so much!

Thank you to all of my wonderful customers for a wonderful 2009- it was definitely our best year yet! And i know that despite this crazy economy, this year will be better-- because I'm not the one in charge of the phone ringing! God is! That's exciting for me. It's nothing that i do. I can't capture a perfect moment, but God working through me can! Whhooosh... pressure off!! hahaa!

And for those of you who know me, you know that from October 1 through December 31, I'm a crazy person. 60-80 hours a week here in the office and shooting makes for many a blogless night. So I'm sorry for the lack of updating!

I'm trying to put together a video of my favorite moments from 2009... but wow! I'm just starting to go through and pick out pictures and there are so many! Quit counting at 100 sessions... So, I'm going to start with just a short slideshow and an illegal use of one of my favorite songs... until i can work on my final product.
